Lipa City, Batangas · Computer Science at NU Lipa

Marco Andrei Belen

I'm a Computer Science student who builds websites and web systems for real businesses. Most recently: a booking platform and patient-records app I built for a dental clinic here in Lipa, and a café website I'm building with a friend. Long-term, I'm working toward machine learning engineering — I like knowing how things work underneath.

About

I'm at National University — Lipa, in the Machine Learning track. I got into programming through Java and C++ logic courses, and these days most of my time goes to web work: sites and small systems for businesses around Batangas.

Alongside classes I worked as a student assistant for five straight terms while staying on the Dean's List, and I served two terms as class representative in CODECS, our computer science org.

I also hold certifications from Microsoft, Google, and AWS — they're verifiable on Credly — but the work below is the better proof.

  2. Class Representative, CODECS

Elected freshman representative for 2024–2025, then sophomore representative for 2025–2026 — coordinating activities and bridging students with faculty across two terms.

    2024–2026
  3. Student Assistant

Five consecutive terms — four at the Library Resource Center, one at the Asset Management Office — working part days around a full course load. Stepped away in June 2026 to put that time into freelance web work.

RMG Dental Clinic — booking website and clinic management system

01 · Client work — dental clinic

RMG Dental Clinic — booking site & records manager

My dentist's clinic booked everything by phone and kept patient records on paper. I built them two apps sharing one Firebase backend: a public booking site where taken slots lock in real time, and a private records manager with medical alerts, billing history, and a dental chart that updates itself from the procedures logged in each visit. It installs like a native app and keeps working offline, and every database write is validated server-side.

Agent Bobs — coordination for AI coding agents

When several developers each run an AI coding agent on the same repo, one can rename a function while another writes new code that calls the old name. Every agent passes its own tests, Git merges with zero conflicts, and the code is broken. Our team of four built a coordination layer in 48 hours: each agent declares its plan before writing, and a shared server stops the ones that collide. I built that server — the collision rules, the MCP tools the agents call, the API the hooks check before every file write — plus the demo harness, and ran the measured comparison. Without it, the merged tests failed; with it, the two colliding agents were stopped before writing a line, and the tests passed.

Telecom churn model results: 0.80 recall, 0.53 precision, 0.63 F1, 0.847 ROC-AUC on 1,409 held-out customers

Telecom customer churn prediction & API

By the time churn shows up in a telecom's reports, the customer is already gone. On the IBM Telco dataset I trained an XGBoost classifier to flag at-risk subscribers early — it catches 80% of the customers who actually leave (0.63 F1), deliberately tuned for recall because missing a leaver costs more than a wasted retention offer. Then I served it behind a FastAPI endpoint, so it works as a service instead of a notebook.

PaperMind app — AI research paper assistant

04 · AI application

PaperMind — research paper study tool

Research papers are slow to digest, so I built a study tool around them: upload a paper and get summaries, plain-language explanations, flashcards, quizzes, and a chat that answers from the paper itself — retrieval-augmented generation on Google Gemini. The API key stays server-side behind a rate-limited Vercel function, with auth and storage on Firebase.

MaxiBrew Cafe, Lipa City

A complete café website I built on spec and pitched to a coffee shop here in Lipa — full menu, hours, and contact flow, built mobile-first because that's where their customers are. The owner hasn't taken it up, so it stands as a concept rather than their live site.

Work with me

I take on a few freelance projects at a time, mostly for small businesses around Batangas. Here's what I build and what it costs — so you don't have to message me just to find out.

  1. One-page business site

Everything a customer needs on one scrollable page: what you offer, your prices, hours, location, and a way to reach you. Built for a phone first, because that's where almost everyone will open it.

Usually ready in about a week

    from ₱20,000

  2. Full business website

Several sections with a filterable menu or service list, a photo gallery, and forms — reservations, pre-orders, inquiries — that land straight in your inbox or Messenger. Set up so the link shows your photo and details properly when it's shared on Facebook, and so Google can find you.

    Usually 2–3 weeks

    from ₱45,000

  3. Custom system

Software your business actually runs on, not just a page about it — online booking with slots that lock in real time, customer records, staff logins, reports. This is the kind of build I did for RMG Dental Clinic above: it installs like an app on your phone and keeps working when the internet drops.

    Usually 4–6 weeks

    from ₱120,000

  4. Keeping it running Optional

Prices change, hours change, you get better photos. A care plan covers content updates, keeping everything online and backed up, and fixing things when they break. Month to month — stop whenever you like, and if you’d rather handle it yourself that’s genuinely fine. The accounts are in your name either way.

₱6,000/month for a custom system — a booking or records system your business runs on needs someone actually watching it.

    ₱2,500/month

These are starting prices for a straightforward build. More sections, more features, or connecting to something you already use costs more — I'll give you the real number before you commit to anything, and quoting is free. Hosting is free on the setup I use. A custom domain like yourbusiness.com is optional and runs roughly ₱700–1,000 a year, paid directly to the registrar in your name.

How it works

  1. Step one

    We talk

You tell me what your business needs. Chat is fine — no meeting required, and it costs nothing.

  2. Step two

I build you a free preview

Not a mockup picture — a real, working version you can open on your own phone, before you've paid anything.

  3. Step three

    You decide

If you want it, we agree on the price and I finish it with your real photos and details. If you don't, you owe me nothing.

  4. Step four

It goes live in your name

I hand over the accounts registered to you — not to me. You're never locked into working with me to keep your own site.

Send me your menu or a few photos of your business and I'll build you a working preview of your site — no cost, no commitment. If you don't like it, that's the end of it.
